KAMS Hall of Fame laureate nominees have been role models to Korean medical expertise for their
achievement in furthering health in Republic of Korea and the world. Their invaluable contributions to medical
sciences have led to outstanding improvements in human health. The pioneers in medical fields are considered as role models who inspire young generation to pursue academic carriers in medicine and the health sciences.

The Korean Academy of Medical Sciences established the Hall of Fame by selecting the nominees in November, 2008 who have outstanding accomplishments to celebrate their perseverance, innovation and compassion. The Korean Academy of Medical Sciences is honored to provide the column for recognizing these medical leaders.
