The proposal of the Science Council, a predecessor of the medical association, was made in May 1966 by the newly-appointed Medical Association Executive
(Chairman Myung Joo-wan) to reduce the need for the organization to coordinate 34 branch scientific societies.

On July 14th, he held a meeting of vice presidents of medical schools nationwide to form a consultative body. On September 8, he held a meeting of the dean of medical school
again to review the rules of the association and elected a council member.

In April 1967, the revised articles of the general assembly of the general assembly of the university were recognized as the official organization of the association by establishing
a clause rule that says, "The association can form a branch science council if necessary."

On November 5, 1966, shortly after the foundation of the Science Council, the Medical Association issued a special seven-person organization magazine, and the promotion of the medical association's school education, including Kim Seong-hwan, the chairperson of the association.Korea has been active in research projects (in particular, joint projects with
NCI in the U.S., joint research in the field of cancer), and medical information technology projects.

However, the cancer research project was transferred to the National Cancer Center in December 2000 at the request of the National Cancer Center and the Korea-U.S. Joint
Research and Cooperation Committee.

The status of the annual membership association of the Medical Association is as shown in the 1st Schedule and from April 2001 it was reclassified as the 'A' group, 'B' group, and 'C' group according to the medical association classification criteria. The previous executives of the medical association who changed their terms from 1974 to two and three years,
such as the one-year term of the medical association, and the Korean Medical Association's title of English is as shown in the Third Schedule.
